Salzburg and the Winterstellgut are 70 kilometres and worlds apart. At an elevation of a thousand metres above sea level, a few minutes’ drive from the Lammer Valley forest and the ski resort of Dachstein West, the Winterstellgut springs from the Braunötz, a peaceful alpine pasture above Annaberg which has been farmed for centuries.
Guests are greeted by an alpine guard of honour: opposite the entrance the imposing Bischofsmütze, flanked by the Tennengebirge and Gosaukamm mountains. Guests can take in the view down to Annaberg from the terrace, observe the dragonflies practising their aerobatics by the natural pond behind the farm buildings, or pick raspberries at the edge of the forest.
